Robotics and AI - Rooftop Edition
Robotics and AI on the Roof
4 June 2025 | 17:30–22:00 | Bahnhofquai 11, Zurich (Conference Room & Rooftop)
AI is exciting, but real-world robotics is where it truly comes alive, literally.
We’re bringing together founders, investors, and other key players in the startup ecosystem to explore the evolving intersection of Robotics and AI.
What to expect:
🕠 17:30 – Doors open, welcome drinks & get-together
🦾 18:00 – Panel on Robotics x AI with: Elvis Nava (mimic), Nico Perony (Nfinite, ex-Unity, founder of OTO.ai, and AI researcher), HCVC, Ammar Mirjan (Mesh) and more...
🌇 19:30–22:00 – Rooftop apero & networking
Who will be there?
Alexandre Flamant (Partner at HCVC): an early-stage deep tech venture capital fund investing in visionary teams tackling hard problems across Europe and the US.
Elvis Nava (mimic): he is co-founder and CTO at mimic, where they are developing recipes for scalable training of generative models of robotic behaviors, and run these models on their own robotic hand hardware.
Ammar Mirjan (Mesh): he is co-founder and CEO at Mesh, where they offers robotic rebar solutions to the construction industry.
Nico Perony: he is CTO at Nfinite, where he’s building the generative infrastructure for the Physical AI revolution. On top, he is an AI-Expert at Alfred. Previously, he led AI Research at Unity and co-founded OTO, an AI startup acquired by Unity in 2021.
Who’s it for?
Founders, engineers, investors, and ecosystem players shaping the next generation of intelligent machines.
This after-work gathering is hosted by Alfred and HCVC creating space for meaningful conversations and fresh connections – all set against the Zurich skyline with music, drinks & sunset vibes.
In our panel, and together with great minds in the audience, we’ll explore some of the most exciting questions in robotics, like:
Should we build general-purpose robots — or is narrow the only way forward?
What signal does the OpenAI $6.4B acquisition of io gives?
What are current bottlenecks on the hardware side (batteries, materials, sensors)?
Can training in simulation ever truly prepare robots for the chaos of the real world?
How can capital be better allocated for these capital-intensive ventures?
