Craft Club: Analog Animations
!!! We’re so beyond thrilled to have Ramisha Sattar in the studio for an afternoon of CRAFTING animations.
Prior to the workshop, choose an 8-12 second clip of a video that’s meaningful to you (think: some thing from your favorite movie or music video, your camera roll, or a home video) and then spend two hours in the studio cutting, pasting, drawing and doodling on the stills to put your own spin on it!
We’ll have collage materials, drawing materials and crafty goods galore to inspire your mixed media piece. After the workshop, Ramisha will stitch together your decorated stills into an animation! You just get to show up and craft!
The tunes will be bumping, we’ll have fun conversation prompts throughout. All materials and beverages provided, just make sure to upload your video clip one week prior!
It will be a perfect afternoon of creativity + community. See you there<3
P.s. this is not a technical, animation production workshop, but rather the chance to design an animation that will then be produced for you!
About Ramisha Sattar: Ramisha Sattar is a Pakistani American creative director and designer based between Los Angeles, New York, and Dallas. Sattar crafts different worlds through collage art, textiles, printmaking, and animation — and draws inspiration from her South Asian roots, old country music, and the Victorian scrapbooks that she collects. As a self-taught artist with too many muses to count, Sattar merges traditional handmade and analog techniques with digital tools, resulting in a seriously unserious aesthetic.
What can I expect from a club at RecCreate?
We design all of our clubs at RecCreate to feel like going over to a friends apartment for a craft hang where they took care of grabbing all the materials and show you the basics before the music starts bumping! Our emphasis is on process, play and community building, with conversation prompts throughout. Everyone is seated at communal tables!
Getting Here
The venue is a ~hidden~ art studio located at 20 Grand ave in brooklyn on the 6th floor of a commercial building! When you arrive, buzz #604, push to open and take the elevator up to 6 (push the elevator button until it turns red.!!) Take a right out of the elevator, and a left at the end of the hallway. The door will be the first one on your right.
Cancelation Policy
Unfortunately for this event tickets are non-refundable/exchange-able! Please double check your calendar. In the event you are no longer able to make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend or swap it on our ticket swap board. Just tell them to use your name!

Age Restriction & Dogs
All guests must be 18+ to attend and though we love your pups, unfortunately cannot have them in the studio!
