Work as a Marketing, PR or Communications Manager? Want to increase your climate impact?

JOIN HERE

You know why embedding climate action into your work and your office is important... but how can it be done? In this interactive session, you'll hear from 5 professionals with roles just like yours who have either made the move to join a new company or are working hard within their current organisation to effect change.

We'll cover:

  • The day to day - what does 'taking climate action at work' actually look like for them? What does their company actually do?

  • Tips and tricks for finding peers, and a new role, working on climate.

  • Opportunities to make a difference that are unique to marketing and communications professionals.

  • Their path, and what they've learnt along the way.

  • ...and any of your burning questions!

Meet your speakers:

  • Tristan Copley Smith - Co-founder, Possible Studio, Founder, Climate Story Collective (Moderator)

    • Tristan is a filmmaker, anthropologist and storyteller helping climate-forward initiatives accelerate their impact and reach. He is the co-founder of Possible Studio, a London-based climate comms agency, and founder of the Climate Story Collective, a global community of climate creatives.

  • Rachael O’Brien - Head of Brand & Marketing @ Opna

    • Rachael has been working within marketing communications for 15 years, and within sustainability and climate specifically for 6 years. Her climate journey started when she was working within the real estate industry, where sustainability became a hot topic, noting at the time that the industry was responsible for 40% of carbon emissions. This encouraged her to take her experience and skills and move into the carbon space, which included building the marketing team at carbon removal leader, Climeworks, and most recently as Head of Brand & Marketing at carbon removal and financing startup, Opna.

  • Ellie James - Marketing Executive at Wildfarmed

    • Ellie James is a food and drink marketeer with experience in FMCG startups from Lucky Saint to Moving Mountains and now Wildfarmed. After volunteering with Following the Footprints and attending networking events, she jumped at the opportunity to work for Wildfarmed, blending my food and drink experience with my ambitions to work in the food sustainability and climate space.

  • Grace Pluvinage - Head of Marketing at Sightline Climate

    • With over a decade of experience across industries and sectors, Grace currently leads Marketing at Sightline Climate. Prior to joining Sightline, Grace worked in the carbon credit space, leading Strategic Partnerships for the SF-based software start-up, Patch. Grace previously held commercial and marketing leadership roles at UK-based consumer technology businesses including Farfetch and carwow.

  • Laura Alberty - Head of Brand & Communications at Planet A Ventures

    • Laura Alberty is Head of Brand and Communications at Planet A Ventures, a venture capital fund supporting European green tech startups that have a significant positive impact on our planet. She was previously a strategy consultant at Scholz & Friends, supporting brand and campaign strategy for their large range of clients. Based in Berlin, she’s a regular speaker on the role of brand and communications professionals, having worked to support such activities across the Planet A portfolio.

This will be an interactive session, with 30 minutes of panel discussion and 20 minutes of breakout room Q&A with each of the speakers. Please think of questions in advance!

Every job is a climate job, whether you work for a climate startup / organisation or not. This session is for both job seekers and those taking action via their current role.

This meeting will be recorded, and available to MCJ Collective members via the Member Hub's Content Library afterwards. You do not need to be a MCJ Collective member to join.
