About Event

Join us for a panel discussion and networking evening hosted by Women in Carbon & Howden. People of all genders are welcome to attend.

We will discuss the pivotal role of financial mechanisms—including insurance—in scaling carbon markets. As demand for high-integrity carbon credits continues to rise, innovative financial tools are key to unlocking capital, managing risk, and building trust in the carbon ecosystem.

  • Marta Krupinska, CEO & Co-Founder, Cur8

    • Serial entrepreneur and seasoned executive with 15 years of leadership experience in socially impactful ventures. Marta co-founded two exited fintech startups, Azimo and FreeUp, and was the Head of Google for Startups UK and co-lead of Google’s Black Founders Fund. Alongside building CUR8, Marta also chairs Youth Business International, a global charity founded by Prince Charles (now King Charles), working to help young people start their own businesses around the world, and ACUA Ocean, a marine cleantech startup.

  • Sanne Rosendaal, Director-Sustainable Value Chains, ING

    • Sanne joined ING in 2012 as a trainee and after two assignments within risk management, she spent more than 6 years structuring large scale wind farm financings. In 2020 she joined Sustainable Finance where she was advising companies on embedding their sustainability strategy in their financings through sustainability-linked loans and green loans. Since 2024 she is part of Sustainable Value Chains where she is structuring financings towards new sustainable technologies and business models with a focus on developing NbS propositions. Sanne holds an MSc in Financial Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and an MSc in Development Economics from School of Oriental and African Studies in London.

  • Islay Lord, Senior Green Solutions Underwriter, Munich Re

    • Islay is a Senior Underwriter in Munich Re Global Markets – Syndicate, Green Solutions’ Carbon team which is developing, underwriting and supporting insurance solutions for the carbon markets.  Islay has 20+ years’ experience in specialty insurance both in broking and underwriting. Prior to joining Munich Re, Islay was an underwriter with Parhelion Underwriting, a specialist climate finance advisory and insurance intermediary which introduced the first carbon credit invalidation coverage for the California compliance market. 

  • Natalia Dorfman, CEO & Co-Founder, Kita Earth

    • Natalia Dorfman is the CEO and co-founder of Kita, the carbon insurance specialist. Kita’s purpose is accelerating investment in high quality carbon sequestration projects with insurance products that reduce transaction risk and safeguard the performance of carbon credit investments. Prior to founding Kita, Natalia spent 15 years as a business development and strategy specialist within the legal sector. She was named among the “Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs to Watch” by NatWest and the Telegraph in November 2022, and is one of the leaders recognised in the 2023 “Meaningful Business 100.”

  • Holly Roberts-Harry, Sustainable Finance Solutions Practice Lead, Howden - Panel Moderator

    • Holly joined Howden in 2024 to lead on Sustainable Finance Solutions as part of Howden’s Financial Institutions Advisory business. Working with banks and the broader finance community, Holly identifies and structures risk transfer solutions that enable greater and more efficient capital deployment towards decarbonisation and transition projects. Prior to Howden, Holly spent a decade as a Debt Capital Markets and Derivatives specialist at NatWest, managing a portfolio FTSE100 Infrastructure and project finance sponsors with their financing and risk management needs. Whilst at NatWest, Holly was offered a secondment to the Sustainable Markets Initiative as Sustainable Investment Director where she focused on blended finance structures and de-risking solutions to scale private sector investment in the transition to net zero. Here she established the Blended Finance Task Force and launched the Global Risk & Resilience Fellowship.
