About Event

Come celebrate the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival and hear songs about the moon (and more) from the 1800s, 1900s, and today.

This is Jessica's first solo show in over 10 years, and she'll be accompanied by the incredible Dwight Okamura on piano. In an eclectic program of art songs, musical theatre hits, and even a little bit of pop music – you may laugh, you may cry, and hopefully, you'll leave feeling inspired!

We can't wait to share this special experience + delicious mooncakes with you.

The program is family-friendly and recommended for kids 10 and over. (You have the best judgment about your kids' interest in classical music and patience in a concert environment!)

Program length: 65 minutes, plus a 20-minute intermission

Soprano Jessica Wan performs regularly throughout the Bay Area, singing art song, lieder, opera, and musical theatre. Jessica has sung with Pocket Opera, LIEDER ALIVE!, Goat Hall Productions, the Berkeley Fringe Festival, Opera on Tap, and the Yehudi Menuhin Chamber Music Festival at SFSU. An avid recitalist, she makes it her mission to introduce people of all backgrounds to classical and vocal music. She is a two-time finalist in the East Bay Opera League Competition. In 2014, she had the opportunity to be invited to study with Frau Ks. Edith Mathis in Salzburg. Since 2004, she has studied voice with Susan Gundunas, and she's collaborated with world-class music coaches and instrumentalists.

Jessica also works as an executive and leadership coach. After a 20-year career leading marketing initiatives at companies like Apple, Smule, Magoosh, and the San Francisco Opera, she founded her own coaching practice and currently works 1:1 with business and nonprofit leaders to help them find greater clarity, connection, and focus in their demanding lives.

She hosts a podcast called The Ampersand Manifesto, where she interviews people who, like her, make their mark in multiple worlds (e.g. music & medicine, science & dance, tech & writing).
