DAKSH is excited to announce its Thirteenth Annual Constitution Day Lecture, on 26 November 2024, at the Bangalore International Centre at 6:30 PM

Barkha Dutt, Journalist, Author and Founding-Editor of Mojo Story, will deliver the lecture and speak on the topic, “Media Freedom: Past, Present and Future

In this talk, Ms Dutt will explore the role of the media as a cornerstone of Indian democracy, often referred to as the "fourth pillar" for its critical role in upholding constitutional values.

The trust in the media is rapidly eroding due to technological disruptions, evolving revenue models, political polarization, and the growing influence of social media and artificial intelligence. As these forces reshape the flow of information, can the media continue to serve as a guardian of our constitutional ideals? And if so, who will protect the independence and integrity of the media?
