Bridging the Financing Gap: A Systems Investing Approach for Emerging Climate Infrastructure Advancement.
Asia-Pacific has a crucial role in the global push to achieve net-zero emissions. The region includes five of the world's top ten emitters—China, India, Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea—and is responsible for approximately 45% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Meanwhile, the deployment of first-of-a-kind (FOAK) climate infrastructure in the region faces several significant barriers, primarily related to financing, technology risks, community engagement, and market readiness.
Please join us for the official APAC launch of Catalyze Climate, a first-of-a-kind Climate Finance Lab that aims to accelerate global decarbonization and strengthen climate resilience.
The event is hosted in collaboration with Vectors Capital, Asia Investor Group on Climate Change, Asia Ventures and Philanthropy Network (AVPN) and SMU Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
The agenda of the event will focus on addressing barriers to financing climate solutions with an emphasis on emerging technologies commercialization in the Asia-Pacific markets. The aim is to create peer learning and lessons learned between allocators and investors on catalyzing finance to systematically address climate challenges in multi-fold levels.
We have confirmed the following panel speakers:
- Jugnu Pati, Senior Fund Manager, ADB Ventures
- Vivek Pathak, Chief Risk Officer, IFC
- Jane Ge, Managing Partner, Vectors Capital
- Assyl Ikhsan, Executive Director - Transition Finance, Standard Chartered Bank
- Anisa Keeratiworanan, Director - Private Equity, Fullerton Fund Management
Some of the key topics that will be addressed include:
De-risking emerging climate infrastructure technologies and improving bankability of such projects.
The role of Asian corporate ventures arms in facilitating core innovation technology and knowledge transfer across US and APAC climate ecosystems.
How to mobilize blended finance can help demonstrate the viability of emerging technologies and business models. Leveraging on learnings from utility-scale Solar PV and onshore wind deployment in the region.
