A Workshop with Jo Ellen Green Kaiser

In today's professional landscape, we're often advised to "keep our heads down" – to compartmentalize our personal beliefs and avoid injecting them into our work. But for many of us, particularly for Jewish professionals, this can feel increasingly untenable, especially when deeply held values concerning Israel and our Jewish identity intersect with our professional lives.

This workshop will challenge the notion of strict workplace separation and explore how we can authentically integrate our values into our careers. Jo Ellen will begin by sharing compelling examples of how individuals successfully navigate the complexities of work-life integration through a values-driven lens. These real-world examples will serve as powerful models for your own reflections.

Following this, we will engage in a facilitated group discussion, pairing attendees. Utilizing a structured template, we will delve into specific instances where personal and professional values collide.

Key takeaways:

  • Challenge the "keep your head down" mentality.

  • Explore authentic ways to integrate your values into your career.

  • Gain actionable strategies for navigating ethical dilemmas at work.

  • Develop a framework for meaningful conversations about values with colleagues and supervisors.

Important Note:

To foster open and honest dialogue, all participants are expected to adhere to Chatham House Rule throughout the workshop.
