SciFi began as the investment arm of Max Levchin’s startup studio, HVF. Their portfolio includes Uber, Unity, Coinbase, Stripe, Pinterest, etc.

Brooks Hosfield is a Partner at SciFi VC, an early-stage generalist firm emphasizing fintech, AI, marketplaces, and science. Previously he spent 6.5 years at Affirm as Chief of Staff to Max Levchin where he worked across the business to help scale the company from ~200 people through an IPO and started their corporate venture arm, Affirm Ventures.

​Before business school, he spent four years as a strategy consultant primarily working to build mobile-enabled startups in sub-Saharan Africa, including helping to launch TYME Bank, one of the fastest-growing digital challenger banks in Africa currently serving over 9M customers. He holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Princeton University.
