About Event

Guy Van Syckle is a Director at sustainable infrastructure investor HASI where he works to structure programmatic investments in solar, wind, storage, energy efficiency, transportation, low carbon fuels, and industrial decarbonization projects.

Over the past decade, he has helped fund billions of dollars of investment into climate solutions deployed by leading project developers for the benefit of a spectrum of governmental, commercial, industrial, and residential customers. Guy helped develop HASI’s environmental impact reporting methodology which provides stakeholders detail on the locational marginal emissions and water impact of all investments per $1,000 invested. Guy was also on the team that helped HASI go public on the NYSE in 2013, becoming the first publicly traded company solely dedicated to climate solutions.

Guy is a Charted Financial Analyst, an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins, and is on the Clean Energy Leadership Institute’s advisory council and fellowship coordination team. Guy has been honored as a “Rising Star Under 40” by the Cleanie Awards and a “Rising Star of Energy Efficiency” by the Alliance to Save Energy. Guy earned a B.A. with honors in Global Environmental Change and Sustainability from Johns Hopkins University where he was also a member of the lacrosse team. Guy works remote mostly from San Diego but spends his winters in the mountains trying to get in as many ski days as possible.

SME office hours are recurring, unstructured, open group calls with one of our SMEs with the purpose of up-skilling and sharing knowledge. The topics are decided by those of you who show up, so bring your burning questions.
