GALLERY WEEKEND 2025 ART WALK 4: Potsdamer Straße and Schöneberger Ufer (Eng.)
Join our art historians and art experts on exclusive guided tours through selected galleries. The Art Walks offer unique insights into current exhibitions, exciting artistic positions, and curatorial concepts.
This Art Walk, led by Sandra Teitge, begins at Galerie Barbara Wien on Schöneberger Ufer and continues to the bustling gallery district along Potsdamer Straße. Under the title Art and science are the same thing, the exhibition brings together major works by Jimmie Durham from the 1980s to the 2010s – a late project that Durham had still conceived with Barbara Wien. Just a few doors down, PSM is showing early works by Almut Linde from the 1990s. In Dirty Minimal #9.1, for example, she documents movement patterns in a logistics center through the traces left by employees. NOME is presenting Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley's first solo exhibition at the gallery – featuring new, multimedia works that span gaming, performance, and digital memory culture. At its vast space on Potsdamer Straße, Galerie Max Hetzler is showing a new exhibition of German photographer Thomas Struth, covering 40 years of his work. At Esther Schipper, two painters are on view: Sun Yitian, who works with hyperrealistic imagery navigating between consumer aesthetics and abstraction, and Merikokeb Berhanu, whose abstract forms are shaped by organic Ethiopian visual traditions. Galerie Judin is focusing on the French autodidact Camille Bombois – known for his sensual nudes, circus scenes, and landscapes. The exhibition, curated by artist Tom Anholt, places Bombois’ work in an exciting dialogue with other artistic positions.
