Doom & Bloom Live at KALW: Designing for Climate Resiliency

Join Doom & Bloom for a special live recording at KALW in San Francisco!

This interactive event will invite special guests on stage to brainstorm ideas on how to build climate residency through unfiltered conversations about design, climate action, and our collective future.

We’ll explore how designers can move beyond the status-quo and shape a regenerative world. Don’t miss this chance to be part of the conversation and help imagine what’s possible in the Bay Area.

Marc O’Brien (Host) is a designer, strategist and educator who has focused his work at the intersection of design, business, and climate action since 2016. Before focusing on climate, he worked in the social impact space on technology, public education, health, and economic development projects. In 2019, he co-founded Climate Designers, a global community of designers committed to climate action. Marc teaches at California College of the Arts, leading courses in climate design and social innovation.

Based in San Francisco, Marc enjoys riding his bamboo bike all over the city.

Katie Patrick (Guest) is an environmental engineer, author, and designer using data, creativity, and behavioral science to drive climate action. As the founder of Urban Canopy Lab and author of How to Save the World, Katie helps organizations and change-makers turn environmental data into powerful tools for engagement and behavior change. Her work bridges sustainability, game design, and storytelling — empowering people to design solutions that make saving the planet irresistible.
