About Event

Loek co-founded Nova Credit while studying for his Masters of Computational Mathematics and Engineering. At Stanford, Loek and his co-founders spent a few months interviewing fellow students and friends about their experience with financial services and quickly spotted a trend. Nearly half of the graduate students at Stanford were international and nearly 100% of this half had a terrible experience with credit. As an international student, Loek experienced the hardships and the limitations of financial institutions while studying and building a business abroad.

Loek received his BS in Economics and Mathematics from Vrije University in Amsterdam where he also became a researcher on stochastic signal filtering. He worked at Adobe as an engineer and distributed self-maintaining database systems in Spark, built from scratch. Nova Credit has raised $69.4M from VCs, including Kleiner Perkins, Index Ventures, General Catalyst, and First Round Capital.

Loek is looking forward to answering any questions you might have about applying to Y Combinator, partnering with VCs in Silicon Valley, and startups in general. The AMA, hosted on the Clubhouse app, is moderated by DutchTechSF, and Maartje Bakker, President of the Board, Dutch Students for Entrepreneurship.

NOTE: Before the AMA with Loek, we have scheduled an AMA with Eric Migicovsky, Partner Y Combinator. More info here: https://lu.ma/4c14jhaa
