[Peak District] Hike with Global Social Impact House
Hey guys,
after having roamed the internet for a bit I discovered that the Hope Valley is the place to be in the Peak District National Park (in between Manchester, Sheffield & Leeds - Spicer Manor is located in the North, Hope Valley more in the South). Why?
Excellent hikes:
Mam Thor & Great Ridge (6-8 km)
Kinder Scout (13-14 km)
Stanage Edge
You can even do Bouldering at Stanage Edge for the adventorous souls
Caves/ruins: Blue John Cavern, Peverill Castle ruins
Chatsworth House: often referred to as “the jewel of the Peak.” This grand stately home showcases stunning gardens, impressive art collections, and a rich history waiting
Charming towns: Bakewell (+stroll along the River Wye), Castleton, Edale, Eyam (knows as the quarantine Plague village)
I even found a cute airbnb already in Castleton, which is the central town in between all these activities/places:
Three Bed Countryside Cottage in het Nationaal Park - Woningen te huur in Castleton, Engeland, Verenigd Koninkrijk - Airbnb
Estimation of costs:
airbnb: 685 euros/5 people = 140 euros pp (for 3 nights)
car rental at Manchester airport + gas = 80 euros + 40 euros= 120/5 = 25 euros pp
food: depends if we cook / go to pubs or restaurants
potentially a ticket for the Chatsworth House/caves = 15 à 20 euros
total for transport & airbnb = +- 165 euros pp
