

Earthen Plaster Workshop
Join us at MAMA TREE in Upper Ojai for a hands-on natural building workshop focused on mixing and applying earthen plaster to our cob and adobe bench More details here.
Space is limited to allow ample space to practice applying the plaster, and approval is required as ticket access will be prioritized for people who attended one of our past cob bench workshops to continue their learning journey.
SCHEDULE: Sat. July 19th, 9AM - 6:45 PM
9am - 12pm | Morning Session
12pm - 2:50pm | Midday Break (byo-lunch + optional creek visit)
3pm - 6:45pm | Evening Session
WORKSHOP OVERVIEW: Earthen based plaster is used to seal a wall or structure in order to resist decay and weathering while holding up for every day use. It is often made from a mix of clay, sand, water, and some kind of plant-based fiber. During the workshop you'll learn theoretical knowledge with practical lessons and time to practice mixing and applying earthen plaster.

LUNCH IS NOT INCLUDED: Participants will have access to shared fridge space and an outdoor propane cook stove and sink to cook their own lunch. Lunch can also be eaten or picked up from in town during the 2hr and 45min lunch break.
