Designers, let's resist | Anti-oppressive gathering
Design has long been used to uphold systems of oppression—but it can also be a tool for resistance and liberation. How do we disrupt harmful patterns, subvert dominant narratives, and build something better?
In this gathering, we’ll explore the role of creativity in collective resistance—how design, art, and storytelling can challenge power, sustain movements, and open pathways to just and liberatory futures.
What to Expect
This gathering will be a space to explore how we sustain ourselves, support each other, and use creative practices to resist oppression.
Based on what registrants have already shared, we’ve shaped this space to focus on anchoring in hope and inspiration through collective creativity—with room for reflection, connection, and emergent exploration.
Nothing is expected of you beyond your presence, even if you can only stay for part of it.
A few logistical details:
We’ll engage in somatic and creative exercises as well as small group conversations.
The session will last 90 minutes and may be recorded if all attendees consent to it
A virtual discussion space will be made available for async participation.
If you're ready to harness creativity for radical change, we hope you’ll join us.
