About Event

Free and open to the public, both in-person (Poinciana Paper Press at #12 Park Gate Rd.) and online via Zoom.

As April comes to a close, so does NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month), an annual project in which participating poets attempt to write a poem a day throughout the month. Let's get crafty together and make a poetry zine!

Whether you've been taking part in NaPoWriMo this month, or whether you'd just like to spend your Saturday afternoon being creative, come join this free book-making session. You'll learn a few methods of making small, folded books out of one sheet of paper to make your own individual publications, and then we will write a poem together and make a handmade group zine that we will photocopy and each get to take home.

For in-person attendees: Bring your preferred writing materials, as well as any art supplies or old magazines or other publications that we can use to put together our group zine, if you have them. We have lots of materials to work with here, too!

For online attendees, you'll need to get creative where you're at with what you have in order to design your page of the zine, or compose your page digitally (Canva is a great free option to try), as well as have the ability to take a photograph of, scan, or download your page to email to us for use in the group publication.
