About this MIDWEEK practice

Howard Thurman once said about his Quaker mentor, Rufus Jones, that it was an enigma that the two of them never discussed race. In this Midweek, we explore a play read-through exploring an imaginary posthumous conversation between the two theologians touching on rituals of humiliation, grief, and rites of responsibility. There are ghosts and a Rainbow colored jetpack! Come participate in a readers theater and engage in spiritual conversation about what is revealed for you!

This event is fully remote.

Welling Hall is currently an MDiv student at Boston University School of Theology. She is a Recorded Minister in the Religious Society of Friends.

What is MIDWEEK?

In the Quaker tradition of Midweek (Wednesday) worship, Beacon Hill Friends House brings you MIDWEEK: Experiments in Faithfulness. This is a weekly, one-hour, facilitated spiritual practice with Quaker flavor and an experimental ethos. Each week, a guest facilitator engages us in a unique spiritual practice that is meaningful to them, and that we can bring into our own lives.

MIDWEEK is always free and open to the public. If you'd like to support this program, you can make a donation here.
