

Kids Startup Week at Nook
Is your child (between 9-15) excited about innovation and developing ideas? After a week of ideation, business development and prototyping, the cohort of kids aged 9-15 will be pitching to a live audience with 3 judges: Parth Gargish (SVP of Netsmartz), Mariat Jibril (founder of MIJ Consulting), and a mystery judge! A $500 cash prize will be given to the winning team to start their business! They'll also get gift cards for fun (i.e. innovation toys, ice cream)

Hands-On Business Learning:
Start-Up Kids at Nook provides practical business experience by allowing kids to form teams and run their own projects. They’ll apply their knowledge in real-life scenarios, developing essential skills that will benefit them in their future pursuits.
Encourage Creative Problem-Solving:
The camp emphasizes developing a business mindset and encouraging kids to apply their creativity and problem-solving skills to innovate. They’ll learn to approach challenges with a fresh perspective.
Build Public Speaking Skills:
Through project presentations and showcases at Pitch Day, participants will enhance their public speaking abilities and self-confidence. This experience will help prepare them for future public and leadership roles.

Parth Gargish (SVP of Netsmartz)
Parth has been involved in building technology products and businesses globally over last 15 years and is a driven, results-oriented executive leader with a proven track record of steering growth and innovation in the SaaS space. Passionate about empowering teams to achieve their full potential and driving organizational success he has worked very closely with startups to Fortune 500 organisations.
Mariat Imade Jibril (Founder of MIJ Consulting, Regional Manager at TD)
Mariat stands as a leader in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), bringing a unique blend of intersectionality to address challenges with authentic and progressive solutions in her role as a DEIB Strategist. Serial entrepreneur in digital and web3. Seasoned corporate executive in luxury and eCommerce including PepsiCo, YNAP and Lane Crawford Joyce Group.
Jessica Liang (UX/UI Design)
Founder of the innovation space Nook and incubator Play Ground, with 5 years of UX experience and 9 years of experience in charitable grant work and compliance.
Jackson Wu (Public Speaking)
Founder of Charismaki, a program focused on public speaking & communications training. Event emcee and professional beatboxer.
Alvin Chan (Leadership)
Space Supervisor at Nook with many years of working with all ages. Excited to bring joy and ensure everyone has a great time!
Eric Tan (AI)
Learner at heart and passionate about tech that can impact humanity. Also great at finding unique ways to be productive with AI.
Misha Vong (Peer Mentor)
Founder of the SaaS product Dino Bino. At 9 years old, she excels at Canva (pitch decks!) and will serve as a peer mentor and team builder.
About the Venue:
Nook’s physical space is a hub for innovation as members implement their ideas alongside our 8 resident experts across a broad range of specialties. After hours, they launch their projects to our community of specialists, investors, tech leaders, startups, and creative producers!
