Ever wondered if flour could taste more than “bland”?
I— Alyssa of @thatgraingenius have taken it upon myself to be a gluten advocate. I’ll answer all these questions and more, such as break down why our commercial flour like Pillsbury is flavorless and introduce you to techniques and sources on how to use flavorful flours to your advantage.
This grain tasting is a mix of a Bill Nye lesson + coffee/beer/wine tasting— but with a baking twist. Whether you’re an avid baker or never want to pick up a spatula, this event is for you.
The tasting is conducted with 6 shortbread cookies baked with different grains. Each grain pupil will also take some an additional batch of cookies home.
Be warned. After discovering the world of curated grains your flavor profile will be changed forever. This event is the first ever of its kind and I invite you to be part of the Texas grain renaissance movement with this tasting.
