Olito Social Club: Freestyle Friday

​Think Olio is an ongoing experiment in lifelong learning. We are a community of open-minded people who gather to exchange ideas with new friends and connect over art, literature, and philosophy.

​Olito is the Friday night social club born out of our community, giving us a place to gather each week. You're always welcome, whether you come solo or with friends - the vibes are communal and thoughtful.

​​For this Friday's Olito, we will dive into the subconscious and not only discuss but practice stream of consciousness thinking and speaking.

​Improvisation, spontaneity, rhythm, logic, metaphor and style come together in one and we get the art of freestyling.

​Although we might not be battling each other (can't promise we won't) we'll have Olio prompts and conversation cards that help us explore the subconscious and, at the very least, get us in the mindset of a freestyle MC.

​All are welcome! We'll create the conversation cards so all you have to do it show up, be open, and surrender to the Olio process of making new connections <3 You absolutely do not need to have any experience with freestyling and in fact, we'll prove that it's something you already do every day.

​What to expect:

​8-9pm: This is the time to arrive, get settled and order some amazing pizza and a first round (the kitchen closes by 9pm).

​9-10pm: This hour will be facilitated with a new conversation prompt every 10 minutes based on our theme giving you a chance to meet all the lovely folks in the room. (Ofc this is optional and there's a great backyard space if you don't want to participate)

​10-11pm: Free flowing hang out time

​11pm: Get those numbers! You don't have to go home, but you've gotta let us close down the bar because some of us have school on Saturday morning. You've got new crushes and new friends and you're riding the high of creating new community. See you next week!

​​In a community effort against the isolation and political nihilism we can sometimes feel in this city, custom-made conversation cards on communal tables invite guests to explore culture, creativity, and connection with strangers at our social club / wine bar.

​​We dream of a phone-less bar. We won't tell you to put it away but our hope is that the vibe will be so good, you won't even remember you have an instagram.
