​New Demos is a monthly event in Roncesvalles, Toronto, focused on curated demos with ground rules (time limits, focus on prototypes), participants vote on demos, and the most votes get $ to continue their work.

​The goal of New Demos is to interconnect and showcase the technology and creative community in Toronto.

​Event Format

• ​Location: GelaSkins in Roncesvalles (35 Golden Avenue, Unit 114, Toronto)

• ​Duration: 2 hours (7:00PM - 9:00PM)

• ​Structure: Curated demos, brief discussions, and then audience voting.

​Curated Demos

• ​Time Limit: 5 minutes per demo.

• ​Content: Original work in technology or creative fields. Must be prototypes, not keynote pitches.

  • ​Presenters should be prepared for brief Q&A post-demo.

​Voting and Prizes

• ​Voting Mechanism: Attendees vote for their favourite demo, demos with most votes win prize pool.

• ​Prize Pool: Pool is generated through community contributions via ticket sales and larger in kind donations. Aiming for min target of $1000 for first event.

​Ticket Notes

• ​Ticket Sales: Default ticket price is $10, all of which goes to the community prize pool.

• ​In Kind: In kind contributions can be made by adjusting the ticket price to desired number. For now contributors will receive our deep appreciation and thanks at the event for supporting our local community.
