​DevConnect Background

​DevConnect is a week-long, large-scale Ethereum community event organized by EF. Its aim is to delve deep into specific topics, collaborate, and cooperate with other seasoned professionals. It differs structurally from DevCon as it comprises many separate events organized by the community, each focusing on a specific theme.

​DevConnect will be held at the Congress Center in Istanbul, Turkey. It's a very open and spacious co-work space. The DevConnect Volunteer team is expected to have 100-120 people on-site, participating in roles such as guiding, organizing, and coordinating to enhance the overall event experience for everyone.

​Speaker Background

​Carlos Melgar is the Head of Memepact at Gitcoin and has a strong focus on global climate issues. He initiated Web3beach, a community with a strong externality that addresses specific public matters and connects the real world fully.

​Recently, he also initiated a Grant activity for DevConnect & Ethglobal Volunteers from LatAM and Africa to fund their travel expenses. Carlos is highly dedicated to addressing real-world needs that rely on public goods support and providing the best blockchain solutions, making this a highly commendable use case.

​Host Background

​Kokeb had previously been involved in Ethereum and the Web3 community in Africa before recently joining EF. She is a very patient, detail-oriented, innovative, and remarkable individual. Her connection and engagement with passionate members of the global community embracing and caring for Ethereum's values fill her with energy. She was also previously involved in Kernel, where she gained a wealth of knowledge about Ethereum, which was one of the initial attractions to the platform!

​In this role as the coordinator of Devconnect, I have connected with enthusiastic members from different regions of the community and collaborated with them, which has been challenging yet filled with positive energy!
