THEATER NIGHT WITH MUITA: SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK

​Hellllooooooooo folks!

​This week's movie night will have a different twist to our normal ones. We will have a THEATER NIGHT instead!
We'll be outdoor in nature, picnic style and with a live performance of William Shakespeare's 'AS YOU LIKE IT'

​Play summary:
As You Like It is a pastoral comedy with major themes of love, gender, sexuality, and injustice. Duke Frederick usurps the dukedom from his brother, the rightful Duke Senior, and banishes him. Several of the characters seek refuge in the Forest of Ardenne where they learn of love and forgiveness in nature.

SCHEDULE:
6PM- Arrival, Immersive prologue with the cast
7PM- 9PM- The actual play

*****Seating is on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. I will be there at 6pm sharp to secure a good area close to the action, the more the merrier that can get here by 6pm*****


TO BRING :
Blankets, Pillows, Snacks and Drinks. We will do a potlucky, picnicy thing. So come with whatever.

POINTS TO NOTE:
- NO ALCOHOL OR SMOKING!!!!!
Alcohol is prohibited in LA parks and there are park rangers who will cite you should they spot alcoholic bevs.

- Parking:
Ample free parking is available. Look for the hot pink signs directing you to the parking lots near the Merry-Go-Round. Parking lot 2 is the closest to the performance site, but be prepared for a bit of a walk up a hill. 

If using Waze or Google Maps, search Merry Go Round Lot Two for directions on where to park. Search Old LA Zoo Picnic Area to find walking directions from parking up to the performance stage.

- Seating:
Please don't come with lawn chairs as you'll have to sit further back into the crowd. To sit close to the stage, only blankets are allowed
