July Cozy Book Club + Charcuterie Board Potluck
Come join the July Cozy Book Club as we host another book club and sunset picnic on the Eastern Prom! We're proud supporters and partners of the Friends of Eastern Prom, a non-profit organization.
Ticket Cost: $5 - but this is a "pot-luck" style event. Each guest is kindly asked to bring one item to contribute to a big ole charcuterie board we'll share together! We'll have drinks to share.
This Month's Book Club Pick
For July 2025 we will be reading Maine Characters by Hannah Orenstein!
This is the story of two half-sisters, Vivian Levy and Lucy Webster, who meet for the first time after their father's death. They have led very different lives: Vivian, a New York sommelier, and Lucy, a Maine high school English teacher. Forced to confront each other at their father's cabin, they navigate grief, family secrets, and a growing bond despite their initial hostility.
How the Charcuterie Board Building Will Work
Each guest is kindly requested to bring an item to add to our big charcuterie board. Feel free to bring a cheese (hard/soft, whatever!), a meat, crackers, fruit, whatever. You just need to bring one item! We will have a google sheet so people can share what they're bringing. But hey, if we all bring just cheese....no complaints here ;)
We'll have plenty of back up items.
What To Bring
A charcuterie item to share (we'll send out a link to a google sheet in advance so you know what's already coming!)
A blanket
A water bottle
A warm layer in case it gets cool
What to Expect:
After grabbing some snacks and catching up with friends, we'll dive into a discussion on the book, with guided questions from our host, Karis. Our approach to book club is relaxed - the conversation may flow into pop-culture/current events and we let that happen naturally!
Didn't read/didn't finish? Don't worry!
As long as you're ok with some potential spoilers, we encourage you to still come and join the community. We design our questions in such a way that you can still participate even if you didn't finish the book.
Weather
Rain/Back-Up Date will be Friday, July 25th.
If we determine the weather will not allow for us to host the event outdoors, we will either cancel or reschedule the event. If the event is canceled guests will receive a refund.
Need to cancel?
Please change your status on Luma or notify us on Instagram (@culturedandcozy) or email us at sipandsavorco@gmail.com. There is usually a waitlist to join our book club, so no-shows are just not cool :)!
