Beyond the Facade: Exploring Alter Egos & Deepest Secrets
Join us for a public session of a Foster Writing Circle, where we cultivate a nurturing space for writers to access their creativity without fear or judgment.
What other life path could you fantasize about trying on? What’s something you are craving more of but are nervous/scared/ashamed to vocalize? What’s that one thing you want to write about, but are hesitant to put down on paper for fear of being “found out”? In this Writing Circle, we’ll meditate on these questions and take it to the page to see what truths are waiting for us behind the facade. Ways in, to include: freewriting, writing as an alter-ego, confessional poems/prose, and more. There is no expectation for writers to share their writing in the circle, although opportunities to read will be available. The first priority is for writers to have a brave space to explore the complexities and yearnings of their inner world.
