Many of us, even more so for women, in Asia struggle to talk about and celebrate our accomplishments often due to cultural and gender norms. However, we recognize that publicly acknowledging our successes is pivotal in the journey towards empowerment and success for women.
This International Women's Day (or month), in partnership with Google and their impactful initiative #iamremarkable, we invite you, alongside other women in the tech industry, to challenge societal perceptions regarding self-promotion. Uplifting women in tech is close to heart for Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India. Since our first few funds, we have been the leading early stage investor into women led startup companies in the Southeast Asia region (such as Grab, Patsnap and The Parentinc). For our 4th fund, we are proud that 35% of our invested companies are led by women led. In our latest fund (5th fund), we raised US$541 million, out of which we have a co-investment envelope of US$50 million that will co-invest alongside the main fund in startups led by women founders. This event is part of our ongoing support for women in tech and we have partnered Google as our content and venue sponsor.

#IAmRemarkable is a global initiative empowering everyone with a focus on women and other underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond.
We're here to improve the self promotion motivation and skills and challenge the social perception around self promotion.
Many of us struggle to talk about and celebrate our accomplishments often due to cultural and gender norms.
Through our facilitator workshops we help 550,000s of people learn the importance of self-promotion in your personal and professional life and be equipped with tools to develop this skill.
Keynote Speaker
Roshni Mahtani Cheung
Roshni Mahtani is the Group CEO and founder of TheParentinc — the company behind TheAsianParent, Mama’s Choice and Webtretho. Her company reaches 25 million parents on a monthly basis. To put that in perspective, 7/10 digital pregnancies in South East Asia use her platform to help raise happy, healthy and confident children.
Roshni is also actively involved in the start-up community. She is currently one of the judges at Mediacorp’s business reality show, the “Big Spark”. In 2015, she co founded the Female Founders Network, a group of over 3,500 female founders across Asia.
Besides her interest in the start-up world, Roshni is also an Executive Producer of Untouchable: Children of God — A documovie about young girls in the brothels of India and how they are sold and trafficked from Nepal.
She’s also an Obama Leader for the APAC 2019/2020 batch.

Jayotika Mohan Asia Pacific leader for Google Cloud business
Jayotika Mohan is Asia Pacific leader for Google Cloud business with a specific focus on Startups, Small and Medium businesses. In her 17+ years of corporate experience, Jayotika has worked across multiple countries, roles and products. Her key leadership strength is to drive 10X growth in business and her ability to build successful diverse teams. Jayotika regularly spends time mentoring Startups on Go-to-Market strategy and diversity. In her personal capacity, Jayotika is a Limited Partner with Supermorpheus Fund to help early stage startups.
Jayotika has been a mentor for young leaders and women for the last 5 years. She volunteers a lot of her time to facilitate #Iamremarkable workshops to build self confidence among all minority groups.
