​About the workshop
​At the heart of many dysfunctional relationships lies codependency - patterns of behaviour underpinning an unhealthy reliance on others for approval, validation and identity. Codependency affects our ability to form healthy relationships, maintain personal boundaries, and prioritise our own well-being. Understanding and addressing codependency is crucial for fostering healthier connections with ourselves and others, leading to more fulfilling personal and professional lives.
​In this workshop we will
​Define key concepts: codependency, enabling, enmeshment, and healthy interdependence
​Dive into the 7 types of dependence and learn which ones are functional and dysfunctional
​Explore the roots of codependent behaviors and their impact on relationships
​This workshop will include elements of psycho-education, personal reflection, group sharing and interactive exercises. It will help you build your relationship to self, become aware of boundaries that need to be set and give you tools to implement them. Through education and awareness, we can all learn and grow together.
​About our facilitatorÂ
​Scout is a certified practising counsellor under PACFA. She holds a Grad Dip (Counselling) from ACAP and a BA (Gender Studies) from USYD. Scout runs a private therapy practice in Manly as The Love Scout, helping couples, individuals and other relational dynamics navigate challenges commonly around infidelity, intimacy and communication. She specialises in alternative relationships.Â
