Cold Islanders Film Club screening a selection of shorts
Immerse yourself in the stories of local Caribbean filmmakers. Cold Islanders will be handing the screen and stage over to Caribbean artists to showcase their short films, followed by a short Q&A with the film creators. Hang around afterwards to grab a drink, play a game of cards or dominoes and connect with fellow film enthusiasts and creatives post screenings.
We will be joined at this screening by London’s Screen Archives who will be sharing their new ‘Undocumented’ project in partnership with The New Black Film Collective. ‘Undocumented’ seeks to address the lack of Black stories in London’s screen archives with the support of the BFI, awarding National Lottery funding.

After his five-year-old son is diagnosed with leukaemia, Brian tries to comfort his son with a fairy-tale. As we witness the innocence of the children in the ward believing the lies their parents tell them, we also see how haunted the parents become. This is a chilling look at how adults project fears of cancer onto children and how fighting the darkness with joy and happiness can also be a form of medicine. Inspired by true events.
