The Next Generation with Claire Coutinho MP
βπΊ Join us for another Next Generation drinks on Tuesday, 2nd September! π‘
βThere goes the well-known proverb: 'give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime'. But how widely does that apply? I think quite broadly, and I'd like to see that energy expanded: 'give a person a battery and you power them for a day. Teach them how to fission Uranium-235 in their garage and you power their neighbourhood for a lifetime'. Speaking of powerβthat's the topic of next month's TNG!
ββββββThis time, we're delighted to be chatting with the Rt. Hon. Claire Coutinho MP, the Shadow Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero. She previously held her Cabinet position in government, as well as ministerial positions in the Departments for Education as well as Work and Pensions. The Conservative MP for East Surrey since 2019, Claire is a former banker and Brillat-Savarin. Sheβs coming to discuss the UKβs energy crisis, and how we can make British electricity cheaper by building more energy sources and innovating new ones.Β

βA bit more about these meetings:
βββββββββββββββAt TNGs, we throw our doors open to Westminsterβs finest to enjoy a political discussion over a few glasses of (free) wine. Open to parliamentary staffers, journos, SpAds, consultants, students and even the odd civil servant, TNGs are a place to network, chat, relax and always feature great remarks from our guest speaker. Whatever your politics, we just like interesting ideas and we hope you do too. Itβs for under-35s, itβs informal and we normally end up at the Marquis of Granby. βββIf we reach capacity with RSVPs, we will add you to our waiting list and let you know if a place becomes available.
βββββββββββββββPlease note this event is exclusively for under-35s.
