Small Group Block 1: General Comp Planning

  • Where do you go to validate the compensation plans that you have created?

  • What methodologies do you use when you instal a new compensation plan? What about when you’re rebuilding an existing one?

  • When is the best time to redo a compensation plan? 

  • How do I know I need to redesign an existing compensation plan?

  • What resources do you use when building a compensation plan?

Small Group Block 2: Sales Comp Planning

  • How do you balance the top down vs bottom up compensation planning approaches?

  • Do you let sales reps have input into their own compensation?

  • Do you offer a percentage of a closed deal to the SDR that opened that deal?

  • Do you offer commission to your pre or post-Sales teams / Solutions Consultants? Why or why not?

Small Group Block 3: Marketing and Customer Success Comp Planning

  • How do you think about variable compensation for someone in the marketing function? Or do you at all?

  • Are there specific marketing roles that require variable compensation?

  • Do you include variable compensation for a CS role that involves upsells & renewals? What about one that does not involve renewals and upsells?
