About Event

Please join us for a thoughtful evening of conversations, debates and reflection with Professor Marina Henke: "Why has the EU failed to become a security actor with teeth?".

Professor Henke is Professor of International Relations at the Hertie School and Director of the Centre for International Security.

The agenda for the event is as follows:

  • 17:30 - Arrival and registration

  • 18:00 - Presentation: 'Why has the EU failed to become a security actor with teeth?'

  • 18:30 - Moderated Q&A

  • 19:00 - Reception

  • 20:00 - Closing

This year marks not only the 20th anniversary of the Hertie School (YAY) but also crucial elections in both the US and the EU, both of which could have far-reaching consequences for international security and collaboration. In times of ever-increasing geopolitical uncertainty, keeping both our Hertie-love alive and engaging in fruitful debates is more important than ever.

Please stay tuned as we finalize more details of the event - including the location and other logistics.
