About Brio and Daisy Rosales

Brio partners with communities around the world to cultivate mental health and well-being in marginalized, low-resource contexts. Led by the community and centered in a science-based approach called Acceptance and Commitment Training, our programs help build psychological flexibility and support values-driven actions, even in the face of adversity.

Daisy Rosales is the Co-founder and Executive Director of Brio, a nonprofit that advances global mental health and wellbeing through design and collaboration with local communities. Through partnership, training, and resource creation, Brio co-creates effective initiatives that resonate in local contexts and scale through local systems. Since 2018, Brio's collaborative approach has directly helped more than 130,000 people build psychological flexibility.

Prior to Brio, Daisy worked for a wide range of nonprofits and social enterprises, advocating for healing and justice around the world. About Teresa Chahine

Teresa Chahine is a Senior Lecturer in Social Entrepreneurship at the Yale School of Management, where she teaches in the Program on Entrepreneurship. Her passion lies in increasing access to knowledge and opportunity for anyone who wants to create social change. At SOM, she created the podcast Impact & Innovation, to share the conversations happening in the classroom beyond the walls of Yale. Through Yale Online in partnership with Coursera, she launched a free online course called Creating Change Through Social Entrepreneurship, based on her course at SOM, available for free to anyone in the world with access to internet. The online course is composed of a series of short videos sharing the content of her book, Social Entrepreneurship: Building Impact Step by Step, guiding learners through a ten stage framework to get started in tackling a social and environmental challenge of their choice.

Before joining the faculty at Yale, Teresa launched the first venture philanthropy organization in her home country of Lebanon, providing tailored financing and critical management support to social enterprises serving marginalized populations through education and job creation for youth and women. At Yale, she formed a collaboration with Havenly, a local social enterprise with the mission of building community power for refugee and migrant women. Her latest book project shares the stories of entrepreneurial women and how they pursue meaning, overcome structural barriers, and disrupt the systems that shape our everyday lives.
