About Event

Join TransitMatters and partners for a tour of Boston's Black transit history!

TransitMatters, Alternatives for Community & Environment (ACE), the Fairmount Indigo Transit Coalition, and more invite you to join us for our Black History Month Transit Tour on February 24 from 11:00am–3:00pm.

We will meet at South Station and take the 11:20am Fairmount Line train to Uphams Corner where we will begin the tour, taking three different modes of transit! The tour will stop at Uphams Corner, Nubian Station, Ruggles Station, and Back Bay Station. Attendees can join at any stop of the tour.

Join us to learn more about the Washington Street Elevated, the People Before Highways movement, the first Black architect of a major transit station, and more! Email info@transitmatters.info if you need fare assistance for the event.

TransitMatters will take photos during the event and publish photos on social media. Attendees consent to being photographed by attending.
