AI Tools for Renewable Energy Training: A Practical Workshop
Summary:
This 1 hour 15 minute hands-on session with Brick Maier from Heatspring will guide participants through practical applications of AI in instructional design and content creation using Claude 3.5 Sonnet.
Renewable Energy training can span developing workshop materials for in-person workforce development training to creating videos to support online training in NABCEP, BPI or other national certifications. AI tools can also help companies in the Renewable Energy space transform documentation into customer facing education materials.
Attendees will learn to leverage AI for summarizing technical knowledge, organizing learning materials, preparing presentation decks, and building prototype widgets, with a focus on maintaining human expertise throughout the process.

Introduction to AI in instructional design: document grounded AI generation (10 minutes)
Perplexity demo - Creating learning material outlines with AI research assistant (30 minutes)
Hands-on comparison of grounded tools for knowledge creation: Notebook LM, Perplexity Spaces, Claude Projects (30 minutes)
AI-aided presentation deck preparation (30 minutes)
Building prototype widgets using AI (20 minutes)
