Innovating with AI Launchpad for Non-Profits
AI isn’t the future. It’s the fix.
Nonprofits are being asked to do more with less — less staff, less funding, less time. This cohort is your fast-track to using AI and automation right now to reduce costs, save hours, and build systems that actually support your team — without needing a full tech stack or budget.
Over 4 weeks, you’ll go from overwhelmed to AI-enabled — learning the exact tools, prompts, and workflows nonprofits are already using to reclaim capacity, improve reporting, and scale impact.
What You’ll Learn & Build
Each week combines live workshops, tool walkthroughs, and real-time support. Expect practical, hands-on guidance — no fluff.
Week 1 — Foundations: AI for Mission-Driven Work
Goal: Establish a clear understanding of how AI applies to nonprofit operations, identify your high-leverage starting point, and begin designing your first AI use case.
You’ll walk away with:
A breakdown of what AI is (and what it’s not) for nonprofits
Real-world examples of how lean orgs are already using AI to reduce manual tasks
Clarity on what to automate first based on your team’s pain points
A mapped-out AI use case for your org (e.g. board updates, donor comms, grant summaries)
A framework for evaluating AI tools and prompts that match your goals
Week 2 — Systems That Save Time
Goal: Begin building your AI-powered workflow using simple tools that work behind the scenes to reduce repetitive admin and communication tasks.
You’ll walk away with:
A fully mapped workflow from task to automation (e.g. Donor Thank Yous → AI Draft → CRM Update)
Access to curated tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Notion AI, and workflow templates
A functioning prototype of your selected use case
Templates and prompts you can reuse across campaigns and teams
A clear cost/time analysis: how much time and budget this workflow can save per month
Week 3 — Scaling Your Impact with Smart Automation
Goal: Connect your workflow to simple automation tools that reduce hands-on input and scale what’s working.
You’ll walk away with:
An understanding of tools like Zapier, Make, and native platform automations
Your workflow connected across 2–3 platforms (e.g. Form Intake → Summary → Email → CRM Log)
A personalized automation map to identify future opportunities for systemization
Guidance on how to reduce reliance on manual labor or outside contractors
A live build session with 1:1 support to refine your system
Week 4 — From Surviving to Sustainable
Goal: Finalize and test your AI-powered system, share learnings with peers, and build a roadmap to scale its value across your organization.
You’ll walk away with:
A working system, fully documented, test-run, and ready to deploy
Peer feedback from other nonprofit leaders testing similar systems
A lightweight internal training plan to onboard your team or board
A roadmap for extending automation to other areas of your work
Ongoing access to resource packs, updates, and future walkthroughs via the Givly community
