Community Discussion: Collective Intentionality in Online & Offline Communities

​Do you share the sense that people throw around the term "community" in web 3 (or on the internet broadly) to describe things that are not real communities? So, what IS a real community anyways?! Bring your thoughts & feelings and let's discuss :)

​This conversation is inspired by Joseph (@Jolow on Slack) who wrote a masters thesis on the topic of "Sustainable Collective Intentionality." ​Some topics we'll discuss:

• ​The difference between "I-mode" collective intentionality and "We-mode" collective intentionality

• ​Various collaborative community practices including: opportunity co-discovery, opportunity co-construction,
  and community governance and what is involved in each.

• ​And finally, using these frameworks, we'll discuss how communities can cultivate what Joseph calls "sustainable collective intentionality" in order to form and sustain collective action.

​Joseph (@Jolow on Slack) is the research lead at DAOstar and is pursuing a masters at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). This conversation will be facilitated with support from Val Elefante, Metagov's Community Lead.
