Collaged Collections with Jess Bird
Collage Club at RecCreate is a therapeutic two hours of cutting and pasting, letting your creativity flow while crafting the coolest found art pieces.
This July, we’ll be joined by the ever so talented Jess Bird, who will share their art + collage ethos and inspiration for making using what you have. Explore our massive collage collection, with the option to bring found material or your own stash to add to the pile!
Choose to collage onto cardstock, postcards, matchbooks or a journal— maybe make a new friend in the process :) We’ll end with the grand gallery walk and optional exchanging of the digits.
As with all RecCreate events, you can expect to go on this journey with a room full of lovely strangers. We’ll offer opportunities for connection throughout our time— encouraging the spirit of the collective. It is (so) much more fun to get to craft together.

About Jess
Jess Bird (she/they) is a self-taught artist born and raised in the cozy city of Rochester, New York. She lives with her partner, two tiny humans, a pug (Frankie), two cats (Tegan & Mochi), and seven silly chickens. When shes not making art about her feelings, she can usually be found re-arranging the furniture, talking to her plants, watching trash tv, or doing whatever hobby her ADHD is currently fixated on. Jess loves community, being a mom, graphic novels, and fresh pens. She thinks about her morning coffee when she's falling asleep, and obsessively Facetimes her nephews on the daily. What can I expect from a club at RecCreate?
We design all of our clubs at RecCreate to feel like going over to a friends apartment for a craft hang where they took care of grabbing all the materials and show you the basics before the music starts bumping! Our emphasis is on process, play and community building, with conversation prompts throughout.
Getting Here
The venue is a ~hidden~ art studio located at 20 Grand ave in brooklyn on the 6th floor of a commercial building! When you arrive, buzz #604, push to open and take the elevator up to 6 (push the elevator button until it turns red.!!) Take a right out of the elevator, and a left at the end of the hallway. The door will be the first one on your right.
Cancelation Policy
Unfortunately for this event tickets are non-refundable/exchange-able! Please double check your calendar. In the event you are no longer able to make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend or swap it on our ticket swap board. Just tell them to use your name!

Though we do our best to keep all photography / video to a minimum, please note all guests who attend consent to being photographed and videoed which may be used for marketing or promotional purposes at the discretion of RecCreate Collective.
Age Restriction & Dogs
All guests must be 18+ to attend and though we love your pups, unfortunately cannot have them in the studio!
