Building a roadmap for progressive UK tech policy
A half-day workshop, sharing and shaping ideas for technology policy in a new government.
How might the new government approach tech and its impact on society? That question will largely be determined by which ideas are on the table, how they are advocated for, and who gets to be in the conversation.
In this workshop we will outline the possible roadmaps for UK tech policy. We’ll discuss the milestones on this map, and identify where there is consensus and disagreement on the priorities, detail and overall direction.
We won’t start from scratch, but instead dig into where key initiatives have left off; including the Data Bill and AI White Paper and policy work developed inside and outside of government. We’ll ask what needs to be kept, ditched, iterated and created. And how these fit together to help shape a comprehensive policy programme that puts technology in service of society.
This workshop is for those working across the policy landscape - from civil society, academia, industry, and government.
