About Event

Please join us (Madrona) for our annual angel investor meetup, in person. We are excited to welcome all angel investors and aspiring angel investors to join us for an evening of networking and a panel discussion about generative AI. The gathering is open to both active and aspiring angel investors.

Over the past year, since our last angel gathering, the consumer and enterprise adoption of generative AI has been undeniable. We have seen several waves of AI innovation over the past 12 months. In August, Stable Diffusion was released, and the image generation movement gained momentum. In November, ChatGPT captured massive public attention towards LLMs. In the past few weeks, we have seen steps emerge towards autonomous agents. AutoGPT surpassed 130K GitHub stars and Baby AGI surpassed 13K stars.

Despite a shifting economic environment, venture capital and angel investors have shown a huge amount of interest in investing in Generative AI. According to PitchBook, roughly $1.7B was invested across 46 generative AI deals in Q1 2023, an additional $10.68B worth of deals were announced in the quarter but have not yet completed.

During conversations with angel investors, we have continued to hear interest in how generative AI will apply to enterprise and commercial services. Given this interest, we will have a panel discussion with local generative AI company founders, experts, and angel investors to discuss how existing companies are implementing generative AI into their product roadmaps and how to evaluate early-stage companies emerging in this space. Panelists will include Esha Joshi (Co-Founder at Yoodli), Neha Gupta (Head of ML at Common Room), Jeremy Tryba (Founder at Charmed), and Tim Chen (Managing Partner of Essence VC and Co-host of the OSS Podcast).

The conversation will be followed by a happy hour with appetizers and space for continued conversation and networking.
