Fashion Circle: Tuesday Talks
What: A panel on fashion design, networking with other established industry professionals, and light refreshments
This month, we will be having a conversation about what it really means to be a working fashion designer, featuring our guests of honor:
Kristing Frailing : Founder and Creative Director, she runs the New York Sewing Center and has designed for her own brand K. B A N A S I K, and many others such as David Yurman, Ford Models, and J. Mendel.
Hailey Vollbrecht: Lead Designer of Naeem Khan. She has an incredible design background in evening and bridal wear. Her background includes a diverse career designing and working for Marchesa, Cynthia Rowley, Ulla Johnson, and Karina Grimaldi.
Shawn Reddy: Senior Director of Women’s Design at Club Monaco. His well-rounded design background started here in NYC at Parson’s. He has worked at Michael Kors, Derek Lam, Proenza Schouler and now is designing at Club Monaco.
Who: Folks who work in fashion (tech, business, design, big brand, small brand--we're looking for a mixed bag)
Why: There are so many tensions in our industry: business versus creatives, established brands versus up-and-coming ones, "the way we've always done it" versus innovation. Our goal is to break down the boundaries that exist in our day-to-day work lives and build relationships between normally separate corners of the fashion industry
