Talk 2: Responsible AI: Navigating Ethical Concerns in Your Data Products by Diana Pfeil from Sunbeam Consulting
Description:
Engineers are increasingly involved with products that have data, machine learning, and AI at the center. But many of us lack the tools to navigate the complexities of responsible AI development. How do we know if our AI models and data products cross ethical boundaries?
In this talk, we’ll cover:
The four key indicators that signal ethical risks in AI products
The challenges of assessing algorithmic fairness and strategies to overcome them
Practical steps to ensure responsible AI deployment
Special considerations for generative AI, including copyright issues and hallucinations
The session will be filled with real-world examples from financial services, criminal justice, and e-commerce. You’ll walk away with a framework for developing your data and AI products with confidence and a greater sense of ease around ethical concerns.
