About Event

Join Professor Karan Singh and U of T's Innovations & Partnerships Office (IPO) for a candid discussion on bringing research to market. From accessing grants and getting industry pilots to creating an IP-based startup, the session will cover real-world best practices and pitfalls to avoid for U of T Inventors and Entrepreneurs. Q&A and networking will follow.

Who should attend? Faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, post-grads, and anyone in the U of T Entrepreneurship community interested in bringing their IP to market.

Why attend? Learn more about commercializing U of T Research, building industry connections, turning research into products, creating a startup, and meet the team that can help make it happen.

Prof. Singh is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science specializing in interactive graphics, perception, geometric and anatomic modeling, character animation, and interfaces for mobile/AR/VR. He is a serial entrepreneur, including most recently founding Jali, a speech and facial animation software spinout company helping to create lifelike characters in games like Cyberpunk2077 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

The Innovations & Partnerships Office (IPO) is your first stop for research commercialization at U of T. IPO helps U of T Inventors patent, market, license, and create statups around their research, and builds successful relationships among industry and investors.

Light refreshments will be served. This event is part of U of T Entrepreneurship Week 2024.
