High School Showcase | Term 3
βHigh School Showcase | Term 3 | School of Humanity π πͺ
βIt is time to celebrate a year of inspiring learning!
βJoin us for our final Global Showcase of the academic year, where our high schoolers will be sharing their projects that make a positive impact on the world.
βThroughout this term, our learners have been designing solutions which contribute to human progress, while developing new skills and mindsets. They have also been participating in micro-internships with real-world organizations.
βπ Our learners have been learning through challenges...
βThis term, our learners have been tackling the following challenges:
βπ‘ Food, Water & Energy Security
βIs there enough food, water, and energy to sustain our planet if our population reaches 10 Billion? How are these three resources intricately linked and how can the world create resource security for all?
βIn this challenge, learners have studied the aspects of food, water, and energy security. They have explored how they are linked, the stresses and tensions between them, their interdependences, and aspects of distribution, access, and sustainable production. They have dived into the history of production, trade routes, and the impacts of actions that interrupt the flow and supply of these vital resources.
βπ Maintaining Global Peace
βHow can we better analyze and understand the causes of conflict? How can we approach conflict non-violently? How can we uphold the inherent value and dignity of all people, while navigating the complexities of diversity? What can we learn about conflict resolution from successful cases of peacebuilding?
βDuring this challenge, learners have explored the various factors that contribute to international and interpersonal conflicts and how to address them non-violently. They have covered the obstacles to peace, such as political differences, economic inequality, and cultural misunderstandings. They've also explored the causes of conflict and the psychology of conflict. In this showcase, they will be presenting tools and strategies that will support them in making their own contributions to maintaining global peace.
βπ± Building Sustainable Futures (Advanced)
βHow can we create an exciting and sustainable future for humanity, that is aligned with the sustainable development goals and the flourishing of both people and the planet?
βThe world faces numerous interconnected challenges that threaten the wellbeing of both people and the planet. These challenges range from climate change and environmental degradation to social inequality and economic instability. This challenge invites learners to think creatively and develop solutions which align with the SDGs and promote the flourishing of humanity and the environment.
βπ A celebration of learning
βAs the final showcase of the year, this event will be a celebration of our learners' achievements! We'll also be doing our annual award ceremony to celebrate individual accomplishments throughout the year.
βEveryone is welcome!
βπ This event is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
