Munich Tech Sauna September Meetup
Join us for our next Munich Tech Sauna Meetup on Wednesday, September 11th, for an evening of relaxing sauna sessions, refreshing lake dips, and great conversations!
Our planned destination is the fantastic Seebad Starnberg, a beloved public sauna with direct access to the beautiful Lake Starnberg. We've had many memorable meetups here in the past and always enjoy the wonderful atmosphere.
Important Note: Seebad Starnberg has recently been undergoing some construction work. While we're hopeful it will be fully operational for our meetup, please stay tuned for updates! There's a possibility we may need to switch to an alternative sauna location. We'll keep you informed.
Getting There (Seebad Starnberg): Reaching Seebad Starnberg is straightforward. Simply take the S6 train to Starnberg station. From there, it's a scenic 15-minute walk along the stunning coastline of Lake Starnberg to the venue.

Tips for sauna newbies
Sauna bathing should be a comfortable experience, so always listen to your body and don't feel pressured to stay as long as others.
Plan enough time for your sauna visit, around two hours for a full session, to allow for relaxation rather than rushing. Avoid going in hungry or with a full stomach.
Before entering the sauna, shower and dry yourself completely, as dry skin sweats more easily. A warm foot bath beforehand can also promote sweating.
Inside the sauna, place your towel beneath your ENTIRE body. Aim for a short but intense sweat, typically 8 to 15 minutes on the middle or upper bench, guided by how you feel. Sit up for the last two minutes to adjust your circulation.
After the sauna, cool down gradually. Start by getting fresh air to supply your body with oxygen before using cold water from a shower or hose. If using a plunge pool, rinse off sweat beforehand.
Following the cold plunge or shower, a warm foot bath can help your body re-balance its temperature and create a feeling of warmth. Additional cold applications can further train your blood vessels and boost your immune system.
Finally, take a rest break to allow your body to recover fully.
