About Event

Zerion is excited to host the “Zero Clarity: Regulatory Compliance in DeFi” meetup.

We are glad to welcome legal professionals and managers from the Web3 Industry to the Meetup. Zerion aims to create an environment for open and transparent discussions of disturbing legal matters.

Agenda:

9:30 - 10:00. Guest gathering. Breakfast

10:00 - 11:20. How to stay DeFI?

Moderator: Sarah Compani (Aleph Avocats)

The main block is devoted to drawing the redline between regulated and non-regulated entities and discussing how decentralised entities can stay legally decentralised. As regulators become increasingly concerned about the activities of Dapps, DEXs, and aggregators (recent Wells Notice to Uniswap, Consensys fights back the SEC), the main question for companies is how to stay unregulated.

11:40 - 13:00. Marketing Compliance in Crypto

Moderator: Darya Shemet (Zerion Inc)

How can projects promote their services without crossing into regulated activities? What entities fall under the UK marketing regulations? Is it safe to promote memecoins on social media?

13:00 - 14:00. Lunch

14:00 - 15:20  Compliance with Sanctions and AML in DeFi

Moderator: Filipp Petkevitch (Buzko.Krasnov)

This topic will cover strategies for adhering to global sanctions requirements and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations within the DeFi ecosystem. The EU is enhancing AML regulations that affect even non-custodial wallets and other DApps, and the USA is scrutinizing the AML and Sanctions control. The main question is who has to adopt KYC and Travel rules. Is it possible to be compliant without implementing KYC?

15:40 - 17:00. The Future of DeFi Regulations

Moderator: Vyara Savova (European Crypto Initiative)

An open discussion on anticipated regulatory developments affecting the DeFi sector and how businesses can prepare for these changes.

Let's navigate the regulatory landscape and bring some clarity to it.
