About the speaker
Dr. Fakhar Abbas is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Trusted Internet and Community, National University of Singapore. His work focuses on the intersection of AI governance, digital policy, and generative AI technologies. With expertise in computer vision, deepfake detection, and digital forensics, he contributes to global conversations on regulatory responses to mis-, dis-, and mal-information. Dr. Abbas has authored over 35 publications across IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier venues and actively serves as a guest editor, TPC member, and reviewer for leading journals and conferences. His current research supports AI safety, digital resilience, and trustworthy internet systems in the generative AI era.
