About Event

Join local Los Angeles children's book authors for an inspiring and fun read-aloud!

Authors Josh Oaktree and Adalgisa and David Nico will be reading from their books. The LA-famous bookstore on wheels, Small Print Books, will also be in attendance with a selection of environmentally-minded great reads for adults.

The event takes place at Plant Material's gorgeous outdoor location in Silver Lake.

Following the reading, the authors will be conducting an upcycled arts and craft activity and signing books!

ABOUT THE BOOKS

Do You Speak Tree? by Josh Oaktree is an imaginative and interactive tale for young readers. Little bookworms will get to hop up on stage and make up the story with the author, as they help Oakie the good-natured oak tree on an adventure to save the forest.

Adalgisa and David Nico's book Fish in the Desert highlights the resilience of a 20,000-year-old species of endangered fish. On a family trip to Death Valley, a young girl spots a beautiful blue and purple fish that she never would have guessed lives in the desert. She learns how the pupfish has survived the extreme conditions of Death Valley and now climate change. Fish in the Desert is the first in a forthcoming series (Bringing National Parks to Life), which highlights different endangered species within the U.S. National Park Service and Wildlife Refuge.

Stay tuned! We're looking to add more authors to the reading lineup : )
