Biopreneur talk 04
For our next session, we're thrilled to welcome Akash Kulgod, the founder of Dognosis – a startup using trained dogs to detect cancers through their extraordinary sense of smell & Cognitive Science .
Akash studied Cognitive Science with Highest Honors at UC Berkeley and has conducted research in eight labs across five countries. He is the first author on three publications and holds a patent in the field of canine cognitive neuroscience.
His research journey includes visiting roles at leading institutions such as Tech4Animals (Israel), Family Dog Project (Budapest), and Medical Detection Dogs (UK). He is also a 2x Emergent Ventures India grantee and a 2025 Foresight Institute Fellow.
Through Dognosis, Akash is tackling the difficult yet vital problem of early cancer detection using nature’s most intuitive biosensors, dogs. His bold, interdisciplinary approach and deep commitment to impact make him a perfect speaker to inspire the next generation of student innovators.
His journey is a great example of how deeptech innovation and purpose-driven entrepreneurship can come together to make a real difference. We believe his story will be a huge inspiration to students who are dreaming of building something impactful.
