Cafe for Strangers / Lauren Dozier

​Join RecCreate Collective & Lauren Dozier for an afternoon of building friendships and obsessing over her precious quilted cookies 🍪. If you miss the days when you could walk up to anyone your age, ask if they want to play and boom!! a new friendship would blossom— we have the perfect afternoon for you.  We know it isn’t so easy in the city, but making new friends doesn’t have to be scary,  it can be (literally!!) quite sweet. Our prompted conversations will be followed by time to enjoy Lauren’s delicious cookies, enjoy one another’s company and celebrate our playful sides. 

​What to Expect: 

​In this platonic speed dating event we will connect over prompted creative questions that allow us to truly get to know each other one-on-one. You won’t be asked what you do or where you’re from at this friendship building event (unless you want to be!).

​Once we finish answering questions we will spend the rest of our time together connecting with our inner child eating our sweet treats and doodling on a custom place mats (think outback kids menu but with rlly cute creative prompts) with crayons. Think: Asking will you play tic tac toe with me? Before asking to swap instagram handles. 

​​It will be very tender and the most delicious way to spend a day embracing something / someone new <3 

​​IMPORTANT NOTES!

​​—This event does have a designated start and end time, and the doors will close after 15min! Please do your best to arrive early/on time so you have time to check in and get settled. 

​—This is a platonic speed dating event, designed to meet friends! We ask that you please only come with the intention of getting to know others platonically.

​​—This is a highly social event and the atmosphere is similar to a bar, it can get quite loud!

​—We are unfortunately unable to accommodate food allergies! 

​​*We are located in a hidden art studio on the 6th floor of a commercial building at the cross streets are Flushing & Grand Ave! The building has an elevator. Exact address is provided with registration.

​​Cancelation Policy

​​Unfortunately for this event tickets are non-refundable/exchange-able! Please double check your calendar. In the event you are no longer able to make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend. Just tell them to use your name!

​​Though we do our best to keep all photography / video to a minimum, please note all guests who attend consent to being photographed and videoed which may be used for marketing or promotional purposes.

​​Age Restriction & Dogs

​​All guests must be 18+ to attend and though we love your pups, unfortunately cannot have them in the studio!
